Philine Rauh was raised by two artist immigrant parents in Marin County. After apprenticing at Indru’s Tailoring in San Rafael, California, Philine moved to New York City and graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Fashion Design. She worked in the garment industry for several importers where she learned the business, traveled all over Asia and Europe designing collections and conducting market research.
After several years she returned to the San Francisco Bay Area where she became Design Director for San Francisco City Lights.
