Matthew Earnest (November 24, 1982), known professionally as EL DISCO IS an American disc jockey (DJ). A 7th generation Californian, Matthew became interested in deejaying as a child after watching Jam Master Jay perform “Beats to Rhytm” in 1990 with RUN DMC at The Apollo. Matthew's stage name, "DJ DISCO", pays homage to his former marketing stint with Lyft Inc's “DISCOLYFT’. After playing for his friends and at private parties in the early-2000’s, he got his first paying job as a DJ at an underground rave in Southern California at the age of 18.
In 2011, Matthew relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he advanced his career as a corporate event and marketing activation DJ. Later, creating the World Famous DISCOLYFT DJ theme car at the start of Lyfts ride-sharing app in SF.Over the past decade, Matthew has preformed for mid-to-large-scale festivals and private events for crowds of over 7,000. He continues to innovate and expand his music selections, while pursuing a professional career in event production and AV services.
